I’m an author, a voice and a storyteller using different mediums to tell stories.

Do it Monday.

I’ll do it Monday, I said a few weeks ago.

I’ll do it next month, I said two months ago.

I’ll do it after summer, I said in winter.

I’ll do it in the new year, I said every December for the last few years.

Monday, next month, next summer, next year. They all come with prior notice and it still catches me by surprise where there should be none.

I know exactly when they’re coming, I know exactly how much time is left. I can calculate it to the millisecond from now till next Monday if I wanted.

I said I would finally call my grandad next week too and this time he  took me by surprise. Suddenly I couldn’t say hello nor goodbye anymore. But Monday came regardless.

Monday came as a reminder that time passed, just like grandfather did.

Just like opportunities do, projects, friendships, even health pass by and we miss them due to a paralysis bigger than ourselves.

Let’s get rid of that paralysis. I’m not promising you THE solution. I’m just here to remind you, to say something you probably heard a million times, to do the thing.

What I’m saying on this video isn’t even original and maybe it won’t work for you, but maybe it will take you to the video that will. Maybe you will watch this and think “yeah, this video is crap, I could do it better”. “If he can, I can” or maybe what I say just resonates with you.

Whatever works for you, works. Just move outside of the room and grab that thing that will propel you to do more.

Stop [reading, listening or watching depending on the medium] and do the thing, who cares what else I have to say if what you’ve read is enough, just go. You can continue reading later if you want but go, now. No need to finish reading.

Call the person, put the shoes on, brush your teeth, do a single push-up, write a few words whatever they are, draw the thing.

Whatever it is, do it.

Do it even if what you have is five minutes. Five is still more than zero.

Monday, Tuesday, Summer, winter, who cares? Exercise your free will.

Do whatever you want on a Thursday evening or a Wednesday morning. Whenever you get the chance.

After you’ve done it once you will need to do one more thing. Create a reminder somewhere uncomfortable, inconvenient, somewhere that will stop you from going about your day.

A paper on top of your keyboard,

A note on top of your phone before you go to bed.

Do whatever it takes as long as it will remind you to follow through with the first repetition, then the second, and so on.

It will take less time to get used to it than what it would take if you were to give up.

If you were to give up, the idea will stay with you, the uncomfortable feeling that gives you paralysis for other things will grow just before you give into your routine. And every now and then you will remember that thing that you wanted to do but never did because of all the excuses you are able to come up with at that point.

Go with your flow. Remove as many obstacles as possible and go with your flow. If you’re a night owl, work on it at night, if you’re an early riser, then go to bed earlier and wake up earlier, do it then.

Use different mediums to your advantage. Remember that the phone, the tablet, the computer, these are all *tools,* use them as that to build what you want to build.

I will be honest with you, even writing this I know it’s not perfect. At least I did warn you, I said it’s not THE solution, but rather something to try and see if it works or maybe through this, you will find something that works better.

As long as it works for you, do it.

Do it, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Do it whenever you can, wherever you can, for however long you can do it.

You will never regret trying.
